Hey everyone,
Big news!
Murder Mystery Puzzles is starting a new chapter and with it, a new name.

Same addictive puzzles, now with a sharper, more memorable name, and a bunch of exciting updates.
Here’s what’s new:
More free puzzles every week

Starting now, I’ll be releasing TWO free brand-new Murdoku cases every week, available as printable files. What we’re calling Murdoku Season 1 will follow a tight release schedule, so no more waiting for weeks for a new puzzle of random difficulty.
👉 Try the first puzzle now at murdoku.com/print.
Free puzzles will come in seasons, with short breaks between each one.
The first Murdoku book is OUT NOW!

Published worldwide in five languages, it’s packed with 80 puzzles, 60 completely new ones along with 20 fan favorites taken from the site. From simple 6×6 grids to unforgiving 12×12 cases, every puzzle still has that satisfying snap when the murderer gets pinned.
I’m very excited to share this book with the world; it’s the result of five years of developing this game, shaped by your feedback along the way. If you want to support me in this transition, buying a copy and leaving a review genuinely helps a ton.
A personal change
For years I’ve been publishing puzzles under the pen name Hiroji Osaka. With the book release and this fresh chapter for Murdoku, I’m retiring that name and going forward using my real name Manuel Garand. Same puzzles, same vision, just my actual name from now on.
Join the community
I want to make Murdoku more community-focused, so we’ve also set up a Discord server and a new subreddit for anyone who wants to hang out, swap solving tips, ask questions, or just talk about puzzles.
Also, Murdoku now has an official Instagram where I’ll post simple 4×4 puzzles, teasers, behind-the-scenes bits, and other updates, follow at instagram.com/murdokuofficial.
… and more to come!
– Book 2, Murdoku: Back in Time launches May 19th 2026, featuring new settings, new twists. More to be revealed soon!
– A full interactive web app so you can solve weekly cases right on your PC or mobile device.
And what will happen to murdermysterypuzzles.com?
To be honest, I’m not sure yet. All new regular puzzles updates will now be on Murdoku.com, the old free puzzles should stay on murdermysterypuzzles.com, and I will probably stop updating this site altogether to fully focus on building Murdoku.
Thank you for being part of this journey from the start, we’ve come a long way since the first puzzle created in 2020, I’m very excited about what’s to come.

Hi, Manuel. I love these puzzles. I ended up here because I saw Murdoku and wanted to a) make sure it was yours and if it was, see if it was new puzzles or old content. I hope it’s incredibly successful. Thank you for making these.
Hey Robert, so you’ve found the secret stash of extra puzzles! 😀
Yeah, I don’t really advertise this site much anymore now that everything is moving toward Murdoku.
Thanks for sticking with me on this journey, I really appreciate it!

Hey, came here because I haven’t solved one of your puzzle in a few months and wanted to print a few for the holidays (what’s better than a murder mystery around the fire during this time?) and I’m really happy about this news! Unfortunately the book is not available (yet?) in my country but I hope it’ll be one day. (🇫🇷)
Can’t wait for the web app too, printing a small booklet from time to time is ok but with weekly puzzles it’s a bit more time consuming haha. Love the name Murdoku too, very marketable 🙂 It’ll for sure become part of my regular rotation.
Thanks for keeping so much of your work free, and good luck with your new adventure
Salut Maxime,

Yo Yo Yo, love the puzzles, bought the book, excellent! Just one note, CREATE A PUZZLE I CANNOT SOLVE!! Some are tricky but I’ve yet to be stumped. Pehaps a 32×32 Super Genius Puzzle! Wile E. Coyote…Super Genius!! Already pre-oredered the second book, keep up the good work. Peace.
Hey Dan, you might wanna test your skills at the weekly live competitions then, see if you can solve it first! 😀
The second book will be more difficult overall, and there are many 16×16 on schedule on murdoku.com/print. A 32×32, now that would be a puzzle for the top 1% of solvers, I’d love to create one someday! I’ve got some other ideas to raise the difficulty without adding more people too.

Hi Manuel—Absolutely love Murdoku & your work! Congratulations on your brilliant & entertaining book! the spouse and I have savoured each and every puzzle, and did become anxious as we approached #80… Was thrilled to discover murdoku.com in late November, and now (today, in fact) this surprise cache of old puzzles to sustain us awhile. Looking forward to Book #2 (preordered), glad to learn from the above that it will be more challenging. (Also delighted to know you are Montreal-based … my home city as well.) Wishing you every success!
Salut Elaine, thank you so much for the kind comments! Really cool to hear from another Montrealer.
Hopefully there will be some kind of Murdoku book event in Montreal someday.
Ça serait formidable!!! We will be there!!!
